Department Goal
It is our goal to encourage and promote responsible development to meet the opportunities of Whitesboro’s future and to collaboratively work with city leaders, citizens and developers to create a place where people live, work and play in a safe environment.
The City of Whitesboro follows the 2018 International Building Code (adopted also by the State of Texas) and offers a variety of services to help citizens and contractors.
The Department is responsible for ensuring that building structures in Whitesboro are safe and conform to uniform building codes, offer information on building permits, codes, and to perform inspections.
The staff is trained and certified in all aspects of code administration in accordance with the State of Texas. The Department works with the Fire Marshal on building safety issues.
